Adding a patient from your EHR by MRN

Search a patient MRN in the Rhazes sidebar to pull them from your EHR, already created and syncing, ready to use in a chat.

What it does

On enterprise plans, the search in the sidebar looks in two places at once: your own chat sessions, and the patients in your EHR.

Find the patient there and Rhazes creates their record, links it to the hospital chart, and syncs their clinical data. They are ready to use in a chat without you creating anything by hand.

Search by MRN, not by name

This searches your EHR on the patient identifier, so use the MRN, hospital number or whichever identifier your system uses. A name will find your own chats but will not find a patient in the EHR.

It returns the matching patient rather than a list to pick through, which is what makes an exact identifier the right thing to type.

Confirming

Rhazes shows you who it found, with their name, date of birth and reference number, and asks you to confirm before creating anything. Check it is the right person here. This is the step that stops an mistyped digit becoming a real record for the wrong patient.

After confirming

The record is created and the sync starts straight away, so their clinical data is being pulled in while you get on with the chat. See Loading and syncing EHR data.

If nothing comes back

Nothing found means one of three things: the identifier does not match, EHR access is not enabled for your account, or your EHR session has expired and needs signing in again.
