Adding a patient in Rhazes
Create a Rhazes patient record with a name, date of birth and the hospital number or MRN your organisation already uses.

Creating one
Go to Patients and add a patient. You will be asked for:
- Full name. Required.
- Patient reference. Required. This is the hospital number, MRN or local record number you already use. It cannot contain spaces.
- Date of birth. Optional, but worth setting.
Why the reference matters
The reference is how you find this patient again, and how the record ties back to whatever system your organisation actually runs on. It is searchable, so it is usually faster than typing a name.
Changing it later
The reference can be updated afterwards if it was entered wrongly or changed at source.
