Sharing a chat session
Share a Rhazes chat session with a colleague by email for a second opinion or a handover, and what happens if they are not a user yet.

Sending it
Open the chat and choose Share session. Pick a colleague from your saved contacts, or type an email address and send the invitation.
Saved contacts are the same list Rhazes uses when you email a generated document, so anyone you have written to before is already there.
What they receive
An email with a link, and a push notification if they already use Rhazes.
If they do not have an account, the email invites them to create one and the session is waiting once they do. You do not have to check whether a colleague is on Rhazes before sharing with them.
The link expires after seven days
Deliberately. A share link that works forever is a permanent route into a patient record sitting in an inbox.
If it lapses before they get to it, send it again. There is no penalty for re-sending, and it is faster than explaining what happened.
Use the address they actually use
Matching tolerates capitalisation and the dots and plus-tags some providers allow, so small differences still reach the right account. A completely different address will not.
What is worth checking before you send
You are sharing the patient too. If the chat is linked to a patient, accepting the invitation gives them read access to that patient record, not only to the conversation. That is usually the point when handing over, and occasionally a surprise. Check the chat is linked to who you think it is.
When Rhazes will not let you share
- Yourself. Not allowed, which mostly catches typos.
- Someone who already has access, or who already has an invitation that has not expired. Withdraw the old one first if you want to start again. See Managing and withdrawing access.
- A chat whose patient was shared with you by someone else. Read-only access does not carry the right to pass it on. If that record needs to reach a third person, it has to come from the clinician who owns it.
- When you have hit the daily email limit, or the sharing limit on your plan.
If the email fails to send
The invitation is not left half-created. Rhazes removes it, so you can try again straight away rather than being blocked by a pending invitation for a week over an email that never arrived.
